Mail HTML Injector is a browser extension that lets you insert, edit, and preview custom HTML in the Gmail compose window. Your privacy is a core design goal of this extension.

Summary

This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything runs locally in your browser.

What data the extension handles

• HTML templates you save. When you save a template, its name and HTML are stored locally on your device using the browser’s chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your machine, is not synced to any server, and is not transmitted to the developer or any third party.
• An on/off preference. The enable/disable toggle state is stored the same way, locally.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect analytics or telemetry.
• It does not track your browsing.
• It does not read, send, or store the content of your emails on any server.
• It does not make any network requests. All code (including the DOMPurify sanitization library) is bundled in the extension; nothing is loaded remotely.
• It does not sell or share any data with third parties.

Permissions

• storage — used only to save your HTML templates and the on/off toggle locally on your device.
• Host access to https://mail.google.com/* — used only to inject the HTML editor button and editor into the Gmail compose window. The extension does not run on any other website.

Data removal

To delete all stored templates and preferences, remove the extension from chrome://extensions, or clear the extension’s storage from your browser.
